For this reason it is probably much easier for QuickBooks for Mac users to migrate to QuickBooks Online, with one exception. But QuickBooks for Mac has also always been behind the windows products, and in many ways the feature set of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks for Mac have been much closer, and continue to be. In the past, I like many other windows users’ have struggled with the differences between QuickBooks (windows) desktop products and QuickBooks Online, and while the new (Harmony) version of QuickBooks Online has come a long way in terms of both capabilities and performance, most windows product users still consider it ‘behind the times’ from a feature standpoint. I checked with my friend who recently started using the App to access QBO from her Mac and she says, “it’s the bomb.” (I’m kind of new to all this slang-stuff, but I think that means she likes it and she accuses me of talking over her head….’what’s up with that?’) But when I heard that Intuit was launching a Mac App for QuickBooks Online I predicted that it could well be a ‘game changer’ with the QuickBooks for Mac community, and by all appearances in its’ first 30-days since launch that prediction may be coming true. Or I suppose I could just start with and re-download transactions from the bank.ĭo nothing and literally stare at my bank account's website and type each transaction into Quickbooks manually.Īnything I'm overlooking? Happy to hear any advice. So I must admit that I have not been a big fan of QuickBooks for Mac, but I do support it, and I have a lot of clients who use it. If QB2019 had better export, I'd have no problem moving to something like GnuCash, or perhaps this manager.io thing that I haven't heard about until tonight. On the bright side, I'm pretty certain I'd only need the cheapest plan. Quickbooks Online, but that's just so unfamiliar to me that it feels last resort to me.
#QUICKBOOKS 2013 MAC SOFTWARE#
What happens if I discontinue the subscription, would I still be able to open the software in 2024 to see my historical data?
#QUICKBOOKS 2013 MAC UPGRADE#
Upgrade to QB2022 for Mac and pay the $350. It also doesn't mention there's actually still a desktop version of Quickbooks for Mac for $350/year subscription, which I just found out about. QB2019 is trying to push me towards a certain version of Quickbooks Online (its target page doesn't even show the cheapest version of Quickbooks Online, dark patterns galore).
But it's not working now at end of July - QB just refuses to import the QBO file. (Somehow I didn't realize that 20 versions came out.) At first I thought that'd be fine - I could just download my bank's transactions and them import them. I'm used to my flow and it works ok for me - I haven't wound down my business entirely because there's a chance I quit my job and go back to consulting again. I really only need it for monthly and yearly reports, and payroll for expense reimbursements, and I can probably even turn off payroll soon. So my traffic is minimal, between 25-50 transactions per month. But I still have cash in my account and am still using it just for expenses until I can't anymore. My self-employed software business is basically defunct now as I transitioned back to be a W2 employee. I've been using Quickbooks for Mac Desktop 2019. Just wondering if anyone more knowledgable than me can give me a pointer on the best way forward for my situation.
